Report Sets can either be viewed within Virtual Shopfloor, or created and printed as PDFs.

When viewing report sets within VS, there are two options;

  • View model specific reports on the screen.
  • Manage, view and print full PDF report sets.

Viewing model specific reports on screen

These are viewable while working on a model in the Model Tab.

Generating full PDF report sets

The full printable report sets are created via the ‘Report sets’ tab. Select the Report sets tab to access the Report Generation screen, here you can see a number of different tabs;

Models Tab

Once you have opened the Report sets Tab, you are given options on which models to create reports for. If you have more than one model in the project, you can toggle report generation on/off for each model.

Production

Under the Production tab, all the available Report Sets are listed. In the image below, there are three different report sets available, however, you can easily delete or create more report groups using the Report Sets manager in the Preferences (see <a>Creating report sets</a>).

Put a tick for each report set you want to create. Note – there is also a tick box to Overwrite Previous. If this is ticked, then the previous set of reports generated for this project will be overwritten. For example, if you have already created a set of Sales reports in this job, putting a tick in the Overwrite Previous box for Sales reports will mean when you now create the Sales reports, they will overwrite the existing set. If the tick box is left un-ticked, the existing set will be kept and the new set will be given a different name. In this way you can choose if you want to keep old reports as part of a historical record of the project.

Click the Create button to generate all the selected Report Sets.

Management

Once the Report Sets have been created in the Production tab, select the Management tab to view all the report sets that have been created. Note there may be multiple sets of any given report sets if the user has chosen not to overwrite the old sets of reports. To view a particular report set, click over it to highlight it and then move to the Viewing tab to view the contents. Alternatively, you can double mouse click the required report set in the management tab and it will open as a separate PDF. The Copy to button allows you to save an extra copy of the selected report set to a chosen directory.

Viewing and Printing

The View tab shows the created report sets as they will be printed out. To print the report set you are viewing, open it up in the PDF viewer by selecting the PDF button at the top left corner of the view area. Once the report set is open in the PDF viewer, there is a print button on the top toolbar. The PDF viewer also supports other features such as saving and attaching to e- mail.

Saving Report Sets

All report sets listed under the Management Tab are automatically saved inside the project (as PDFs) when the project is saved. You only need to use the Copy to button if you also want to save an extra set to a different location.
