You can extend the host walls beyond the boundaries of a conservatory to allow windows and/or doors to be added outside the conservatory. You can do this in both our software programmes, Virtual Shopfloor & vsHome. The following article focuses on how to extend a host wall and add a window/door in vsHome.
How to extend a Host Wall in vsHome
Select the host wall with your curser. You will see the ‘Edit Host Wall’ settings appear in the edit area to the right. To extend the host wall adjust the ‘left-hand wall extension’ or ‘right-hand wall extension’ depending on which side you would like to extend.
Here we have adjusted the ‘right-hand wall extension’ by 5000mm.
A close up of the edit area settings. To add a window or door to the extended host wall select the ‘add window into wall’ tool under ‘Wall Tools’ which is highlighted in red above.
The ‘Add a window/door into a solid wall‘ window will pop here. Here you can specify the style and location of the window/door.
Browse through available window and door options by selecting the button next to ‘window/door style‘. Select which side you would like to measure the new window from followed by the distance in ‘mm’. You can also set the window width and height. Press ‘OK’ and you will see the alterations have been made to your host wall.
