The report editor in Virtual Shopfloor can be used to add shapes, images and text to create personalised and unique reports. We have some new features within the report editor that improve usability as well as providing more options for layout and alignment.
Creating New Items
You can now continuously add items to your report. This function can be used on all items except the ‘connected straight lines’ and ‘free polygon’, see picture below for reference:
To continuously add an item onto the report simply select the item and click anywhere on the report, with each click a new item will be added.
Adding Text using Parameter Selector
There is a new addition for adding text within the editor. Having previously been able to type any text of choice then click to add to the report you can now choose certain variables from the project information to add automatically. To access this option open the editor as usual and select you the required text option. Select the plus sign next to the text field and the ‘parameter selector’ window will pop up.
The first drop-down menu lets you can choose from different variable groups which hold different types of information. See the image below for all the variable group options:
Once you have selected the required group you can choose the specific variable from within it. For example after having choose ‘Project – Order Information’ you can then select ‘order status’.
Once you have selected the correct variable click OK. The variable will be displayed with a ‘$’ at the start (see image below). You may want to manually add a label or introduction into the text before the variable to ensure that the text makes sense when being adding into the report. See example below for adding the order status. The text ‘Order Status’ has been added manually and the variable, which reads ‘${orderData.liveStatus}’, has been selected using the new parameter selector. On the right is the text that has been added into the report.
